Serenity

I recently stopped by to share DOTR with Audra Mandel O'Donnell the owner of 'Serenity - a Healing Experience' in Janesville. Like many of the people I meet, there are circles of other people I know swirling the both of us. Audra was one of these people.

I was introduced to Audra by Anne Soloman of Indulge Salon. Anne cuts my wild tresses and we have become friends. Audra's business is in the Indulge suites at 1360 Excalibur Drive. When Audra was thinking about coming under the umbrella of Indulge, Anne had asked me what I knew about Reiki healing. I was happy to share my experiences and enthusiasm for this ancient Japanese healing tradition. I had been introduced to Reiki by Arlene Rowden of Edgerton, who also a friend. Turns out both Audra and I had taken classes and workshops from Arlene... cool circles!

Audra is a very engaging, welcoming, soothing gal. She comes from a business background, but felt a calling to the healing arts. She offered an hour session of 'Serenity' and I was thrilled with the offer! I opted for both Reiki and Light Touch Acupressure. First, you lie face up on a massage type table with your clothes on, comfortable and calm. Initially concentration on your breath is very helpful to the experience. As Audra began, I 'saw' (my eyes were closed) a wash of purple. Then as she worked from one side and top to toes I felt my energy shift and dance both to her and away. Was really entertaining to be conscious of my energy reacting to the directed Reiki energy through Audra. She activated my energy centers through light touch, which further relaxed me. The hour flew by and at the end, I was relaxed, felt centered and lifted.

These methods of calming and centering energy are proven and real. Audra has an awesome way to show you how, with a little ping pong ball. It has two contacts on it and when you touch both with your fingers, the ball lights up. When she did it, and then took one of her fingers off, and invited me to touch the contact, the ball lit up as well. A simple way to prove the energetic connection of us to every thing and one around us!
